Beth and Kara
I'm glad I spent it with you" ~ Lou Reed
Yesterday two of my loveliest friends came to visit, Beth and Kara. Kara brought her almost 9 months old baby Lydia, who is already one of Alexandria's favorite first friends :)I could not have been more pleased that they were able to come when they did. Marietta is most radiant in Spring and Fall, with all the tree blossoms and tiny violets streaking the grass like a paint spill.
We enjoyed the ever so scrumptious- eye rolling - delight of the artisan sandwiches from 3rd St. Deli. The honey dijon mustard, crunchy hot paninis, all too yummy :P
After a perfect afternoon strolling our babes downtown, indulging in baked goods and shopping, we let the babies roll around on the grass. Little did we know that they would resemble baby cubs rolling around on each other, but that's exactly what they looked like. Alexandria is a slobber kisser and when she gets the chance she is face first on her current favorite friend. Yesterday it was Lydia.
I'm glad Beth got to stay a little later and see Jonathan's practice and join us for Dinner at the Levee House, which really fell flat as far as fine fare is fancied (like the alliteration ?) O, well, we got to enjoy the twilight over the river and the never ending energy supply that runs through my daughter Sylvia. One day, she may like to sit at the table with us. Too much to see and do always...
